Bubbles LaFae's love for bubbles began in childhood, inspired by the simple joy of watching soap bubbles float in the air. This passion blossomed into a dedicated craft and is now Bubbles' full time profession. Bubbles has performed in venues across the globe. From festivals to Theatres, from birthday parties to weddings and even a stint at Paulos Circus in the UK. Making a living out of blowing bubbles is a dream come true. Bubbles motto in life is "Follow your dreams relentlessly - If I can do it, so can you!"

In 2023 Bubbles became the first bubble artist in the UK to recieve Arts Council funding from the DYCP scheme. She used this to fund research and development into cabaret acts of "bubble dance" and "bubblesque". she then went on to create her first full length theatre stage show which she still tours today.

Bubbles was always a performer and even as a young child would regularly be on stage. Her background is in Musical theatre. But the love for bubbles was always present.

Bubbles began her journey as a circus artist in vibrant festival fields in the UK. Inspired by flow artists she met, she picked up her first set of Poi at the age of 15 and never looked back. Over the years Bubbles realised that she could combine her love of Poi with her love of bubbles and so started her experimental journey of creating and developing the best design for maximum bubbles from a set of Bubble Poi

At Bubble Poi our aim is to inspire joy and movement through our handcrafted poi, inviting artists and enthusiasts alike to embrace their creativity and dance with bubbles. Body movement is good for the soul and releases endorphins (the Happy hormones). We all need a little more joy in our day to day. Soap bubbles remind us of the beauty of childlike wonder and innocence and bring a smile to everyone's faces. Combining these two things is pure magic. Brighten your day and the days of those around you.

When Bubbles first started making bubble Poi in 2016 she had no idea how much it was going to blow up! As a trained circus artist and bubbleologist, Bubbles was sure that there must be a way to combine these two passions. Over the years Bubbles experimented with different designs, but none of them were quite right. Too light for advanced poi tricks, or not enough bubbles. Then it 2024 she finally got it! Her design of a Dreamcatcher inspired poi head combined with cheerio chains was it! This design changed the face of Bubble Poi across the globe when her social Media went viral in spring 2025! Bubble Poi mania hit and Bubbles new design was the catalyst. Now other creators are making similar designs, but none of them benefit from Bubbles 20 years experience in the bubble industry and advanced knowledge of materials and how to best create bubble tools. Poi is a traditional form of performance art from Maori culture, originating from the indigenous people, of New Zealand. Historically it was used to enhance coordination and strength, often performed by women while singing or telling stories.

To properly respect Poi it is important to acknowledge its cultural significance, understanding that it is more than just a dance; it is a representation of Maori heritage and identity.

While it is universally understood that the Poi of circus and flow arts are not the same as Maori Poi, yet carry the same name as a mark of respect for their origins, it is important that flow artists understand the significance of what we do.

Traditionally Poi are respected by agreeing to never hit one another with Poi. NEVER leave poi lying on the ground as that is disrespectful. Always place your poi away with respect and dignity.
